Our Story

The story of Venice Butter Cookies is a heartwarming tapestry woven through generations. It begins with my grandmother, who, during the British colonial era in Malaya, worked as a maid for a British family. It was in their kitchen that she discovered the art of crafting Scottish Shortbread Biscuits, a discovery that would become a cherished part of our family’s legacy.

When she returned home, she brought with her not just recipes, but a piece of the British tradition she had come to love. My mother, who was adopted into our family due to the hardships faced by her birth family, found a nurturing heart in my grandmother. Despite the absence of a blood connection, my grandmother’s love was as deep and unconditional as if she were her own. Through her, my mother inherited not just a taste for butter cookies, but a sense of belonging and warmth
